At the beginning of this summer, I felt like I was lost and needed some sort of direction. There were some things in my life that were up in the air. So my friend told me to write down a bucket list of things that I would like to do during the summer. This last week in Punta Cana, I crossed so many things off my bucket list and so much more. It truly was #SoulMatters. I was able to take time for myself, my business, and meet new friends in the process.

It was amazing to see this beautiful Meliá Caribe Beach Resort. We enjoyed their 6 pools and the white sand beaches right on the ocean. This all-inclusive resort featured 13 restaurants. Breakfast and lunch were mostly buffets and in the evenings we made a reservation for one of their fantastic restaurants, which featured food from all over the world, including Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Spanish, steak houses, and many more. We found surprises at every turn, including animals, live entertainment, pool parties, and pure fun.

My favorite part of the whole experience was the entertainment. We were able to see live shows. The employees taught us how to dance, they were very welcoming and were having fun teaching us new dances, no matter our skill level. Meliá Caribe Beach has shows nightly for the whole family. Dance parties, silent disco, movies, Dominican Night, games, and we caught the premiere of the "This Is Elvis" Show.

The Chocolate Experience was another one of my highlights. Meliá Caribe Beach features a Chocolate Experience store, but as a bonus, we got to do a workshop. During the workshop we got to try the coco bean through all stages of the process, from raw to chocolate. We even got to make our own chocolate bar.

The whole staff were super talented. They all had multiple roles throughout the resort. It was fun to see familiar faces everywhere we went and the staff interacting as friends and family.

Meliá Caribe Beach is like 2 resorts attached together – a family side and an adult side and we were able to see both sides of the resort and enjoy all the amenities.

The family side has a full waterpark and The Kids Zone. The Kids Zone includes a children's pool, garden area, and TV where they can rest. Also The Kid Zone has video games and a small snack bar full of snacks and fruits so they don't miss a thing. Kids Zone is available to children 8 months and up. You can also hire a babysitter through the resort to stay in your room with your children for a extra charge per hour.

Pro tips:

  • Allow at least 2 hours for customs coming in and going back to the US.
  • Download WhatsApp. WhatsApp can be used on Wi-Fi and you are able to connect with friends and family throughout the trip. This was also the way we were in contact with staff.
  • Facebook Messenger works great with Wi-Fi, including being able to contact family and friends through the app's video calling.
  • Be sure to contact your phone service provider to let them know you will be out of the country. Many service providers charge extra per day to use phone service or turn off cellular while you are there and connect through Wi-Fi.
  • Contact credit card companies that you will be out of the country so they will not flag your account.
  • Most places that we found take USD; be sure to bring small bills to tip.

I also got the opportunity to go on Bebe Catamaran! We danced on the boat, went off the waterslide into the ocean, and snorkeled!  #BebeCatamarans

All Opinions are my own. I was compensated a stay at the resort for my review.
